FAQ
Q 1: What's the Pixy MR?
Pixy MR is perfectly built for Sony ILX - LR1, and compatible with M300/M350 drone platforms, offering quick and straightforward integration via DJI Skyport. Pixy MR is optimized in size, weight yet powerful (SWaP), recommended by UAV experts in multiple applications.
Q 2: Can Pixy MR support other cameras?
No, Pixy MR is tailored and compatible with only Sony ILX-LR1
Q 3: What's lenes support on the Pixy MR?
The Pixy MR offers full camera functionality for Sony ILX-LR1, the most compact full-frame image sensor, with a various lenes compatibility:
SEL28F20
SEL35F28Z
SEL55F18Z
And the prime lenses, including SEL24F28G, SEL40F25G, SEL50F25G.
Q4: Which operating modes does the Pixy MR support when used with the M300/M350 RTK?
Pixy MR is a ready-for-flight plug-and-play DJI M300/M350 RTK, connects directly to the Sony ILX-LR1 utilizing the DJI M300/M350's default damping in the lens ranges (2). The solution offers all the available functions on DJI Pilot.

Linear Flight
Q5: DJI SDK compatibility (what is included, and what is not)
We integrated Basic Camera and Gimbal Control, Live view from the Camera monitor, Customize App Widget, Time synchronization, and positioning.
Q6: Automatable functions?
With Pixy-MR, you can control shooting parameters for ILX-LR1 such as Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, Exposure Compensation, Exposure Mode, White Balance Mode, Drive shooting Mode, Focus Area, and Focus Mode.
Regarding the gimbal control, the user can control the rotation of the gimbal, set the speed and smoothness, and other advanced settings for each axis consisting of hold strength and stiffness.
Q7: File naming
The users have to set the name and extension of images before the flight mission. Be cautious that if you want to get GPS information for mapping estimation, you have to set the file type to JPEG.
Q8: (Auto)Focus control (with Sony LR-1)
Pixy-MR supports focus control for Sony ILX-LR1, you can switch Automatic focus and Manual focus quickly by the widget on the main screen or you can control the extension of focus mode in the config view of Pixy-MR, it concludes 5 focus modes of the camera, AF-S, AF-C, AF-A, DMF and MF. Moreover, when the camera is in Autofocus mode, you can point to the remote screen to select the focus position.
Q9: Controlling the gimbal/compass / course / vertical angle and similar
About the gimbal, you can control rotation manually, control settings, and read the attitude of the gimbal. With compass, course, vertical angle and other similar, Pixy-MR software can read the quaternions, velocity, and current GPS position of the device.
Q10: List of functions in SDK that work with LR-1 camera
We have the Basic Camera function, Camera Video Stream transmission, time synchronization, and positioning.
Q11: Battery life
That depends on the battery of the M300 and M350. Technically, both Pixy-MR and ILX-LR1 power will be supplied from the drone via Skyport mount on the top of Pixy-MR.
In real life, the maximum flight time is about half of an hour and above, but we always set the flight time to be around 15 minutes for safety.
Q12: Does it work with Prime lenses and Zoomable lenses as well?
It is compatible with the Sony fixed local lens, refer our site.
With Zoomable lenses, we don't focus on the zoom function at the current, I want to disclaim that Pixy-MR only concentrates on mapping applications, but we have a plan to upgrade this feature in the future version of Pixy-MR for supporting survey and photogrammetry.
Q13: Why do we recommend an additional damper?
The system of Pixy-MR works with a standard DJI damper when ILX-LR1 uses lightweight lenses like SEL24F28G and SEL28F20.
To avoid resonance when ILX-LR1 uses a heavier lens like SEL55F18Z, the system should be used with our advanced damper.
