### ⚠️ **Important Warning – Software Update Prerequisite**

**Before trying to update the software to this version, please check the payload software version first**

* If you are currently using Vio versions **1.4 or earlier**, please update to **version 1.5 first.** The v1.5 update package already includes the [v2.0.0 branch](https://github.com/Gremsy/Vio-Software-V2/releases/tag/v2.0.0), allowing you to seamlessly upgrade to Vio Software v2.x after installing v1.5.

### **1. Preparing for Upgrade**

Before starting, ensure you have the required tools and software packages.

#### **1.1 VIO Software Upgrade Tool**

* **Tool:** GremsyFlashTools
* **Version:** v1.1.7.5 (Latest)

### &#x20;2. Upgrade Instruction

#### **2.1 VIO Software Upgrade**

**General Connection Setup**

1. Connect a USB-C cable from the bottom of the VIO to your computer.
2. Change your computer’s IPv4 address for the VIO USB Ethernet interface to:\
   `192.168.55.X` (e.g., `192.168.55.110`)
3. Refer to your operating [system’s IP configuration guide ](https://docs.gremsy.com/payloads/vio/hardware-configuration/computers-ip-configuration)if needed.

#### **2.1.1 Upgrade via Web App**

1. Open a web browser and go to:\
   <http://192.168.55.1:8000/>
2. Navigate to the OTA Update section.
3. Choose "Manual", then "Browse" to locate the VIO software `.zip` file.\
   Do not unzip the file.
4. Click "Update" and wait for the process to complete.
5. Power cycle the VIO.
6. Wait for approximately 2 minutes until the purple LED indicates a successful boot.

#### **2.1.2 Upgrade via Gremsy Flash Tool**

1. Launch GremsyFlashTools v1.1.7.5.
2. Select **"VIO"** from the device list.
3. Click **"Open File"** and select the VIO software `.zip` file.\
   Do not extract the file.
4. Click **"Check Device"** to confirm connectivity.
5. Click **"Flash Payload VIO".**
6. Wait for the process to complete.
7. Once finished, the system will confirm a successful upgrade.

#### **2.2 VIO Gimbal Firmware Upgrade**

1. Download the latest gimbal firmware file.
2. Power on the VIO.
3. Connect the S-Port micro-USB port on the gimbal to your computer.
4. Launch gTune Desktop and click "Connect".
5. Go to the "UPGRADE" tab and select "UPGRADE FIRMWARE".
6. Click "MANUAL UPGRADE".
7. Click "BROWSE" and select the firmware file.
8. Disconnect the control cable from the MTX port that is connected to the VIO before upgrading.
9. Click "Upgrade". The process will take about 2 minutes.
10. Once the upgrade is complete, click "DONE". The gimbal will restart automatically.

### **Important Warning – Software Version Compatibility**

Before updating to VIO software version 2.x:

* If your current software version is 1.4 or earlier, you must first update to version 1.5.
* The v1.5 update contains critical components required for compatibility with version 2.x.
